  Adjacent to the Conestogo River, at the corner of Front and King Street, the shop occupies the second floor of the grain silos, as well as the adjoining railway box-car.

 The Silo Weavers was founded in 1980 as a partnership for the sale of handweaving. In 1997 it became the sole proprietorship of Elsa Brigden Elliott.

 

Today, woven goods for the home are the business' specialty.

Elsa's designs are complemented by domestic and imported rugs, throws, and gift items.

In addition to Elsa's textiles, other Canadian craftspeople's work is featured both in her store and the studios in the village

 

 

 St. Jacobs is a few kilometers north of Kitchener and Waterloo, and close to Elmira.
